Recruiting Volunteers
Identifying volunteers willing to take on leadership positions can be difficult. These suggestions may help you identify potential leaders during leadership transitions:
• Take note of highly engaged and frequent participants at events and inquire about their willingness to get involved in planning.
• Discuss upcoming leadership transitions and ask for interested individuals to step forward and indicate their interest.
• Talk up the experience, and share how the opportunity to be a leader has helped with professional development or to acquire skills not available in your current job.
• Use your social channels. Advertise open positions and ask candidates to identify themselves. When new leaders take over, celebrate their arrival with a post about their experience and talents.
• Speak with your global engagement team liaison, as they have a proven survey tool available to identify new recruits.
