Branding

It is important that clubs and affiliates use all email and website templates provided by the Alumni Association to ensure consistency and proper branding standards. The Alumni Association Brand Guidelines have been posted in the toolkit for your review. It is very important that you comply with these guidelines and not alter the official marks of the University or the Alumni Association in any way — this includes the use of the block M. Violations of the brand guidelines, including non-approved usage of the block M, may result in fines from licensing. Logo Usage & Licensing The Alumni Association has created logos for all of its clubs and affiliates which should be used on all communications including emails, social media, web pages, etc. These logos are approved by the University of Michigan, are consistent with the Association’s own logo, and are intended to promote the relationship between the Association and its clubs and affiliates. Clubs and affiliates are prohibited from using any other logo, including any previously designed logo or specialized logos. No alteration of the logo is allowed. The Alumni Association will provide appropriate logo files for your club’s use (EPS and PNG files), so please reach out to your global engagement team liaison for access to the files. Logos on Merchandise To use club and/or affiliate logos, the Association’s logo, or any University logos or marks on any merchandise, the design must receive approval from the Association and/ or U-M’s licensing department. If your design is approved, the merchandise will need to be produced by a University Approved vendor. A list of University-approved CLC Licensed Vendors has been posted in the guidebook.
