Verify Membership Status (+ video tutorial)
This article is intended for volunteers who have access to the club leader portal and want to verify whether a walk-up attendee has an active membership to the Alumni Association for discounted event pricing.
It is assumed that the user has already logged into the portal and has navigated to the Home page. Log in instructions can be found here.
If the walk-up attendee has not attended U-M, has not had a friends and fans account, never donated to the U-M/Alumni Association, or ever been a member of the Alumni Association their name will not show up in the search. It is safe to assume that they do not have an active membership with the Alumni Association.
- Click Membership Verification in the top navigation bar.
- Enter at least 2 characters of the first and last name
- Click Search
- You will see education information to help verify the correct alum
Select the State to narrow searches for more common names
The Membership Verification tab opens in a new window to allow it to remain open while you Check-In attendees on the original tab simultaneously. This will prevent lost data when switching and avoid repetitive clicking.
