Athletic, Social & Celebratory Events | Alumni Association of the University of Michigan                       

The Association recommends that its clubs host events allowing alumni to connect, socialize, and celebrate U-M and our shared experiences, including social, athletic, and other events. Here are some examples of typical club events in this category:

• U-M game-watching parties
• Group outings to local sporting events (U-M or other)
• Club recreational team sponsorship
• Golf tournaments
• Hikes
• Bowling
• Holiday parties
• Happy hours
• "Taste of Ann Arbor" events, including food shipped from Cottage Inn, Zingerman's Stucchi's, or Ann Arbor favorites
• Family-friendly events such as picnics and zoo outings
• Lunches and dinners
• Young-alumni and senior-alumni events

Welcome Events

The Associations encourages its clubs to host an annual welcome event each fall for alumni who recently moved to the club's area, including recent graduates and transplants. You may even find newcomers who are interested in volunteering for your club.
