Student Events

Student Events | Alumni Association of the University of Michigan

The Association recommends that all clubs host events supporting U-M students (and prospective students) in the club's area.

Some common types of support our clubs provide to students are:

  • Identifying a club leader to act as a liaison to the Alumni Student Recruitment program. Additional club members may also join ASR to assist in recruiting, including adopting local high schools and attending area college fairs, at the request of U-M.
  • Hosting a spring reception, prior to the May 1 undergraduate enrollment deadline, for high school students admitted to U-M. To request a roster please contact Jasmyn Irvin in the Admissions Office at [email protected] in late March. The goal of these receptions is to educate admitted students about the University and recruit them to Ann Arbor.
  • Hosting a student send-off event in late July or August.  Request a roster of enrolled students in your area in late May, [email protected].
  • Mentoring events for U-M students.
  • Hosting student organizations that visit your club's area (e.g., Alternative Spring Break through the Ginsberg Center; career Immersions through the Career Center; Solar Car Team; Men's Glee Club; Women's Glee Club).
  • Promoting and attending games, matches, and tournaments in your area featuring U-M's olympic/non-revenue athletic teams (please visit the Athletic Department's composite schedule for all U-M teams to determine when they may be in your area).
